Chinmayi has studied, practised and taught many different styles of yoga from traditional Hatha to Classical Kundalini. She has travelled to India several times to expand her knowledge of Akhanda Yoga and to Peru visiting traditional shamen to learn how yoga can incorporate the traditional healing techniques she has learned in over a decade of study.

This is very popular with sport’s folks who need a good stretch, help preventing or recovering from injury or support with competitions, races and events. Classes are predominantly physical but with some internal work to help with nerves, beliefs and mindset.

Fitness and Performance
We are continually surprised at how fitness levels can be improved through some styles of yoga. Chinmayi’s Yoga for Sport helps lung capacity, upper body and core strength, concentration and focus and of course, flexibility. This greatly reduces the risk of injury.
Chinmayi’s main yoga focus is to switch on the relaxation response from the brain by connecting the physical body with the mind through the energy of the breath.
In doing this we retrain our mind to react differently to life’s challenges. Relationships improve and we feel a deeper sense of purpose and meaning.

It all starts with one class!
Chinmayi had appreciated the benefits yoga and traditional medicine can bring to modern life for many years before deciding to learn how to pass them on to others.
She struggled with stress for many years until she suffered a breakdown. Yoga changed everything for the better.
Whilst now a practising therapist, yoga, meditation and shamanistic teacher, she believes that continuous learning is essential in this ever-changing world and necessary as the whole planet becomes more aware of what holistic, complementary medicine has to offer.
Chinmayi successfully completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training with the Yoga Alliance at the Yandara Yoga Institute in Mexico and 500 hours with the Yoga Alliance at the Anand Prakash Ashram near Rishikesh in India. On her graduation in India, she was given her spiritual name – Chinmayi (meaning ‘bestower of bliss’), by her lifetime teacher Yogrishi Vishvketu. She has travelled extensively through India practising with many different teachers and styles wanting to bring a little more of the spiritual and scientific essences of the practice back to the West through her classes and training.
